At the following free events, I will be reading some choice excerpts from Live at McCabe’s Guitar Shop, answering questions and signing books. Each event will feature live music!
Thursday, March 5, 7 PM, Small World Books, 1407 Ocean Front Walk, Venice, CA 90291, 310-399-2360. At this beach boardwalk shop, I will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Fred Sokolow who will share his stories as a customer, performer, teacher and audience member at the legendary Santa Monica music venue and play some music as well.

Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, 8 PM: McCabe’s Guitar Shop, 3101 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica CA, 310-828-4497. Peter Case played his first solo acoustic show at McCabe’s Guitar Shop four decades ago – and has returned many times since as documented in the new book ‘Live at McCabe’s Guitar Shop.’ He’s back on the storied stage March 28 and 29 in support of his forthcoming album ‘My Life to Live’ – recorded …where else? – Live at McCabe’s Guitar Shop. To help celebrate the occasion, I will be in the house both nights and happy to sign the ‘Live at McCabe’s’ book. Tickets for these shows HERE

Saturday, May 30, 2 PM: Santa Monica Public Library, 2201 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, CA, 90405, (310) 458-8600. I will be reading book excerpts from “Live at McCabe’s Guitar Shop” and be joined by musician, author and artist manager Mitch Greenhill of Folklore Productions (AKA: FLi Artists), and multi-instrumentalist and music teacher Fred Sokolow who will share their own stories about the legendary Santa Monica music venue and play some tunes. I will be joined by longtime L.A. music journalist Kirk Silsbee who will share his reflections on the ‘jazz age’ at the Live at McCabe’s Guitar Shop concert series and memories of encounters with artists including John Fahey and Richie Havens while attending shows at the iconic venue for over 50 years, as well as well as musician, author and legendary artist manager Mitch Greenhill of Folklore Productions (AKA: FLi Artists), who will join the discussion and play a few tunes on guitar. This event will be moderated by award-winning L.A. podcaster, culture writer and music junkie Rico Gagliano and include an appearance by musician, author and owner of the legendary folk music booking agency Folklore Productions Mitch Greenhill will join the discussion and also play a few songs.

Here I will be joined by musician Tom Zehnder, who will share stories about his legendary father – longtime repairman, music school director and band leader John Zehnder, and play some tunes on the guitar his Dad bought at McCabe’s over 50 years ago!
